How to describe Cloudship?
There is no simple response or answer to that question, CLOUDSHIP is in a field of their own and everywhere they go they turn the scene into something that cant be described due to the uniqueness of Brandon's voice and the awesome guitar playing from Jon. The genre they home themselves in is rock/alternative rock but there is no clear set genre i would put them in, they are part rock,part blues and a whole lot of Fun to watch and listen to. If you ever get a chance to see these guys live, you wont regret it.
A two man band made up of the vocalist/drummer/rapper named Brandon Freeman backed by the guitarist and harmony vocals named Jonathan Napoles. Brandon can hit the high notes, he can carry them and he can melt your heart away and take that pain your feeling with his voice and fantastic drum playing as he multi-tasks both at the same time while Jonathan plays his heart out every show on the guitar strumming always hitting them notes and when he hits a solo you better be ready to sit back and take it all in because if you think youve heard great music, you havent heard nothing yet, these guys are no average joes.
Have you ever felt lost without a way to find your way back and no matter what you do or say it seems like you keep getting further and further lost and then something, a sound, that sounds so familiar and distinctive that it brings warmth and calmness to you, it brings clarity, brings what wasn't clear before into a new light and bam! you feel right at home, this is one way to describe the band that is CLOUDSHIP.
Based out of Fresno Ca where the local music scene is full of artists/musicians looking to make a name for themselves but lack the dedication or determination or originality to go anywhere except local venues, this is not that kind of band, they are far from that. Cloudship has been around the country on multiple tours and everywhere they go people cant help but deny the uniqueness and originality of these guys.When they arent on tour they can be found rocking live usually in the Tower District of Fresno playing what can be called nothing but pure bliss. IF you have a chance to catch them live you wont be disappointed and will find yourself signing along to every song once you find them on youtube or buy their album and put it on. So are you ready to become a Cloudship mate?
